Role Overview
Role Title: Communications Assistant
Wage: $22.00/hour + 4% vacation pay
Benefits: Cell Phone and Travel Stipend
Start Date: April 27, 2026
Duration: 18-week contract (ends August 30, 2026)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Hybrid - Work remotely and on-site in Durham Region, Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, or Hamilton.

What You’ll Do
Content Creation & Social Media
Capture high-quality photos and videos at events to showcase A Greener Future’s initiatives.
Help create engaging, brand-aligned social media content using images, video clips, and captions that drive engagement.
Work closely with the communications team, who will provide strategy and guidance on social media direction.
Review social media performance metrics, analyze trends, and optimize content for engagement.
Interview volunteers, community members, and stakeholders to gather compelling stories for digital content.
Maintain an organized media library of photos and videos for future use.
Provide on-site event support, capturing key moments and ensuring seamless content creation.
Administration & Teamwork
Use the Jibble App to log your hours and track activities.
Manage administrative tasks such as responding to emails, tracking expenses, and attending team meetings.
Utilize Slack, Canva, and GSuite for project management and content creation.
Work closely with a collaborative team, contributing ideas, meeting deadlines, and maintaining an inclusive work environment.
Who We’re Looking For
You are a creative, organized, and results-driven communicator who:
Has experience with photography, videography, and social media marketing.
Is skilled at creating engaging, impactful content that aligns with a brand voice.
Is driven by tracking results in social media analytics and continuously improving content.
Is comfortable engaging with volunteers and event participants, starting conversations, and capturing authentic moments.
Is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects.
Enjoys working outdoors in diverse environments, capturing real-time storytelling opportunities.
Thrives in a fast-paced, creative, and mission-focused setting.
Work Conditions and Requirements
Must be between 15-30 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada (Canada Summer Jobs program requirement).
Hybrid Work: A mix of remote tasks and on-site event attendance across Southern Ontario.
Tech Requirements: Must have a smartphone with a data plan, plus a computer and reliable internet for remote work. A high-quality camera is an asset.
Flexible Schedule: Some tasks may require availability during evenings or weekends for event coverage.
Travel: Must be able to travel to various event locations in Southern Ontario as needed.
