Guelph Tool Library
55 Wyndham Street N. Guelph, ON
Community tool library with access to 1,500+ tools for DIY, repair, gardening, and creative projects.
About
Guelph Tool Library is a membership-based lending library that gives people access to a large shared collection of tools instead of requiring everyone to buy their own. Members can access more than 1,500 tools for do-it-yourself construction, community agriculture, cooking, and creative projects. The library operates out of Old Quebec Street Shoppes in downtown Guelph and is designed to support practical making, repair, and community sharing.
How it works
Purchase an annual membership. The current is $70 plus applicable taxes and fees.
Borrow up to 10 items at a time for up to one week, with renewals subject to availability.
Use the tools for home repair, gardening, building, cooking, or creative projects.
Return items clean and on time so they can be inspected, maintained, and shared with the next member.
Why it’s low-waste
Guelph Tool Library helps reduce unnecessary consumption by making it possible to borrow tools that most people only need occasionally. Instead of buying, storing, and eventually discarding rarely used equipment, members can share access to a well-maintained community collection saving money, reducing waste, and supporting a more practical culture of repair and reuse.
