KW Library of Things
91 Moore Ave. Kitchener, ON
Community library of things with nearly 1,000 items to borrow, from tools and kitchen gear to camping and outdoor equipment.
About
KW Library of Things is a community lending library that helps people borrow useful items instead of buying them. Members can borrow from an inventory of nearly 1,000 items for home renovation, garden projects, outdoor adventures, and everyday needs.
KW LOT is a project of Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region, a registered nonprofit organization, and operates from 91 Moore Avenue in Kitchener. Its hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
How it works
Sign up for a membership online or in person. Membership is $50 per year.
Browse the inventory and borrow items such as tools, kitchen equipment, camping gear, and other practical household and outdoor items.
Use the items for projects, adventures, and everyday needs without having to buy and store them yourself.
Return the items so they can stay in circulation for the next member and continue supporting community sharing.
Why it’s low-waste
KW Library of Things makes it possible to borrow the kinds of items many people only need occasionally, from tools to camping gear to specialty kitchen equipment. By keeping those items circulating through one shared community collection, it helps reduce unnecessary purchases, save money, and make everyday life a little lighter on both homes and the environment.
