South Dundas Lending Library

Morrisburg Arena, South Dundas, ON

Free lending library with sports and recreation equipment for residents of South Dundas.

About

The South Dundas Lending Library is a free community program that gives residents access to a wide variety of sporting and recreation equipment. The library was originally established with support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to help eliminate barriers to participation in sports and leisure activities and to encourage active, healthy lifestyles.

How it works

  1. Browse the lending library through South Dundas Recreation’s webpage and request equipment via email.

  2. Pick up and return items through the Morrisburg Arena.

  3. Borrow sports and recreation equipment at no cost, helping make active living more accessible for local residents.

  4. Return items so they can be reused by other community members.

Why it’s low waste

The South Dundas Lending Library helps reduce unnecessary consumption by giving people shared access to sports and recreation equipment they may only use occasionally or seasonally. Instead of buying new gear for short-term use, residents can borrow what they need for free, save money, and keep useful items in circulation within the community.

Good for

  • Seasonal sports and recreation equipment

  • Families trying new activities

  • Residents who do not want to buy gear they may only use a few times

  • South Dundas community members

  • Lower-cost access to active living
