Ontario Envirothon is a province-wide environmental and leadership program for Ontario students in Grades 9–12, run by Forests Canada. Students compete in teams of five, building real-world skills through hands-on training, field testing, and a public-speaking component. Learning is grounded in four core areas: Forestry, Soils, Aquatics, and Wildlife, plus a yearly “Current Issue.”
In 2026, the Current Issue is Non-point Source Pollution (pollution that accumulates over a wide area, often via runoff, impacting waterways and surrounding ecosystems).
Teams participate in in-person regional events taking place between April and May 2026, with top teams advancing to the provincial competition in late May 2026. Regional dates and locations are posted online and updated as they are confirmed.
A Greener Future is proud to be part of Envirothon 2026, supporting student learning on the Current Issue and contributing to the program by helping develop a competition scenario.
Registration: 2026 team registration is open (fee $275 + HST per team), and the online registration deadline is March 24, 2026.
