Protecting Our Water, Together
A Greener Future is proud to partner with Ripley's Aquarium of Canada to launch the September UNSMOKE Butt Blitz.
Cigarette filters are a form of plastic pollution. When littered on city streets, they can travel through storm drains into our waterways, threatening water quality and wildlife. That makes the Aquarium a meaningful place to turn awareness into positive, hands-on action.
29,700 cigarette butts were collected here in April. How many can we remove this September?
Join us as we clean the surrounding area and help protect the aquatic environments and animals at the heart of the Aquarium's work. Every cigarette butt collected will be counted toward our September goal of picking up 1 million butts and sent to TerraCycle for recycling.
Please wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a reusable water bottle.
