Cigarette butts account for 1 in 5 pieces of litter we find at A Greener Future shoreline cleanups.
Join us on Saturday, April 20th, for a community Butt Blitz event to remove cigarette butts from the environment. We hope to prevent future littering by raising awareness and educating communities about the negative impacts that cigarette butt litter has on ecosystems and health.
Participating in this event will contribute to A Greener Future's goal of removing 1 million cigarette butts from the environment across Canada throughout April.
Please bring an up-cycled container with you to collect cigarette butts in (e.g., yogurt tub, coffee tin, etc.) and some gloves or a litter picker. A limited amount of equipment will be available, but we recommend bringing your own to ensure safe participation.
A limited number of Pocket Ashtrays will be available thanks to our co-hosts - Butt 1 Community!
Due to the type of litter being removed, this is a 19+ event.
